Your Money, Your Future: County Offers Free Tax Assistance and Financial Literacy Programs at the Library

Starting in February, Leon County Government is offering free tax preparation assistance and financial literacy programs at the Leon County Public Library to help residents make informed financial decisions and achieve their financial goals.

Providing these services at no cost removes the financial barriers that often prevent households from accessing professional tax advice and financial guidance.

Residents are invited to attend the library’s upcoming programs, including:

  • Tax Toolkit: Prepare with Confidence – Join experts from the Legal Services of North Florida’s Low Income Taxpayer Clinic to better understand the tax filing process, identify common deductions and credits, and approach tax season with confidence.
    • Tuesday, February 3, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Leon County Main Library
    • Tuesday, March 3, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Dr. B.L. Perry, Jr. Branch Library

  • The Credit Climb: Reach Your Financial Goals, Thursday, February 19, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Dr. B.L. Perry, Jr. Branch Library – Presented by the First Commerce Credit Union Foundation, this workshop explains how credit scores work, offers strategies to build or rebuild credit, highlights common pitfalls, and provides tips for major purchases.

  • One-on-One Financial Planning, various dates from 5 to 7:30 p.m., Leon County Main Library – These free, confidential sessions connect residents with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERâ„¢ for personalized guidance on budgeting, debt management, retirement planning, insurance, and other financial goals. Registration is recommended.
All programs are free and open to the public.
