Plan Ahead of Severe Weather

With severe weather to arrive Saturday, March 15, night into early Sunday, March 16, morning, Leon County continues to closely monitor the storm in close coordination with the National Weather Service of Tallahassee. The National Weather Service of Tallahassee has issued an important advisory regarding severe weather expected to impact our area beginning Saturday night through Sunday. The storm system may bring hazardous conditions, including strong winds, hail, and potential tornado activity.

Key Guidance for Mobile Home Residents
As part of its 4:15 p.m. update, the National Weather Service of Tallahassee has strongly advised all residents of mobile homes to seek alternative shelter, such as friends or family who live in sturdy, permanent structures to ensure your safety.

Stay Informed
Ensure that your mobile phones are fully charged and that wireless emergency alerts are activated. Stay updated on the latest weather conditions by keeping a television tuned to your local station and ensuring that your weather radio is operational.
Prepare Your Shelter
Take the time to review and prepare your designated shelter. Ensure that it is stocked with essential supplies, including a flashlight, shoes, a few bottles of water, a helmet, and a change of clothes for everyone, and familiarize yourself with the quickest route to safety.
