Spring Seed Library 2020

Spring Seed Library Kickoff

Join us on Saturday, February 8 for the 2020 Spring Seed Library Kickoff. UF/IFAS Extension Leon County will offer a hands-on seeding activity, a healthy cooking demonstration, an Ask-a-Master Gardener booth and much more! Vegetable seeds will be available to "check-out" at all library locations beginning Saturday, February 8. 

Nea Kickoff

NEA Big Read-Leon County Kickoff and events 

Join us on Thursday, February 6 at 6 p.m. for our NEA Big Read-Leon County kickoff event of "Borne" by Jeff VanderMeer. National best-selling author, Jeff VanderMeer, will be our keynote speaker for the kickoff and will be discussing his book "Borne" and its themes. We will be giving out copies of his book "Borne" to attendees.  

We will also be offering a sneak peak of our 2020 Spring Seed Library. Anyone who attends the NEA Big Read Kickoff will be able to check out seeds early at the event. This is free and open to the public

The LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library System will be hosting a series of events inspired by Jeff VanderMeer's book" Borne" through February and March.

Alligator Encounters with the Tallahassee Museum 

All ages are invited to explore the wonderful world of alligators and meet a live one!

Escape Rooms:

Can you escape our post-apocalyptic escape room?  

Time is running out as Wick is scrambling to find medicine he needs to survive in the ruined city. In order to escape the room, teams of 2-4 people must break the codes and find the medicine Wick needs before its too late.

Wild Matters with the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge

Join us on Tuesday, February 25 at 6 p.m. at the Leon County Main Library as the St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge speaks on the importance of the Refuge and it’s biodiversity. Attendees will learn about upcoming events and how they can become involved with the Refuge.
