Message from Library Director Pamela Monroe
Hi Friends,
February is here, and it’s time to celebrate one of our most cherished community treasures – your local library! National Library Lover's Month is a time to reflect on the incredible resources, programs, and opportunities libraries offer and to show appreciation for the ways they enrich our lives.
At the Leon County Public Library, we’re proud to be a hub for discovery, learning, and connection. Whether you visit for a quiet place to read, to explore the latest technology, or to attend one of our engaging events, there’s something for everyone.
Here’s how you can join the celebration this month:
- Discover something new by exploring our vast collection of books, eBooks, audiobooks, movies, and more. Dive into a new genre or revisit an old favorite–our staff is always here to help you find the perfect fit.
- Attend events, including book clubs, craft workshops, and game nights.
- Show your support by tagging us on social media with your library love stories. You can also support us by becoming a volunteer or donating to the Friends of the Library to help us grow our services.
- Sign up for a library card, or renew your existing one. It’s your passport to endless knowledge and entertainment, all for free.
Libraries are more than just buildings filled with books–they’re vibrant, inclusive spaces where people of all ages can come together to learn, grow, and thrive. This Library Lover's Month, we invite you to celebrate with us and discover all the wonderful ways we can enrich your life. Together, let’s keep the love for libraries alive!
Amazing things are happening,
Pamela Monroe, Library Director
