Help Your Home Blossom During Leon County Spring Home Expo
County’s annual event offers workshops and demonstrations to help homeowners, homebuyers, and renters spruce up their homes.

Join Leon County Government for the 2024 Spring Home Expo on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at 615 Paul Russell Road. Homebuyers, homeowners, and renters are invited to attend workshops and demonstrations led by local experts about homeowners insurance, heir property, homebuying strategies for success, gardening, disaster preparedness, and more. Local organizations and experts will also provide resources about financing the purchase and maintenance of a home, sustainable living, and more.
2024 Spring Home Expo workshops and demonstrations include:
Workshops
- Heir Property with Legal Services of North Florida – Learn all the legal steps needed to ensure a home is properly inherited.
- What Everyone Should Know About Homeowners Insurance with Tasha Carter, Florida’s Insurance Consumer Advocate – Receive an overview of the various types of homeowners insurance coverage available, tips for shopping for coverage, and learn how the home you select can impact your insurance options.
- Homebuying Strategies for Success with the Tallahassee Lenders’ Consortium – Hear from a panel of home inspectors, loan specialists, and more about crucial tips when purchasing a home.
Demonstrations
- Disaster Preparedness with the Leon County Division of Emergency Management – Learn how to assemble a kit with all the supplies you and your family (including pets!) will need to prepare for the next storm.
- Composting at Home – Compost is great for soil, water, air quality and community health. Join our local Compost Community to learn about starting a backyard composting operation.
- Backyard Gardening – Take a tour of the UF/IFAS Leon County Extension Office’s demo gardens and learn techniques for successful plant cultivation.
A light breakfast will be served, and the Leon County Division of Housing Services will raffle off great giveaways to spruce up your home at the end of the event.
