Mission

The Leon County EMS Division exists to provide clinically superior, compassionate, cost-effective emergency medical services to all citizens and visitors of Leon County; regardless of social economic status, utilizing the latest technologies and medical care standards within the bounds of available resources.

Leon County EMS (LCEMS) is a county government-based full-service EMS organization that has served Leon County, Florida since 2004. The organization delivers services using a hybrid high-performance EMS system where ambulances are dynamically deployed in high-demand areas and statically deployed in rural, low-demand areas of the County.

LCEMS provides advanced life support ambulance services, critical care paramedic transport services, tactical medical services, highly infectious disease patient transport services, special event standby services and community risk reduction services to the community.

LCEMS and its members have been recognized by multiple organizations for service excellence, innovation and community service. In 2010, LCEMS became the first government-operated and eighth overall EMS organization in the state of Florida to achieve accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services.
