OEV Preps Local Businesses for Reopening with Impact Survey, PPE Site

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., May 5, 2020This week, under Governor Ron DeSantis' Executive Order 20-112, certain businesses across Florida will slowly begin to open their doors to customers. Here in Florida’s capital, local businesses that are choosing to re-open are taking extra precautions to be safe as Florida's recovery begins.

To aid their office in assisting local businesses, the Office of Economic Vitality (OEV) have developed a Business Impact Survey. The 16-question survey will be used to identify the needs of businesses and measure the impacts on the local business community. The deadline to complete the survey is Friday, May 8, 2020.

Our team is doing everything it can to help our business and non-profit communities navigate the changing regulatory landscape while helping them identify resources and support as we work toward recovery,” Paredes said. “Supporting our local businesses and non-profits in response to COVID-19 is now our primary focus and will remain so through the reopening of the economy.”

As a direct result of the initial survey feedback, OEV has launched a site connecting businesses and people with local vendors and manufacturers of personal protective equipment (PPE).  The companies listed on OEV’s webpage source, manufacture or distribute PPE including face masks, hand sanitizer, sneeze guards, clear partitions, gloves and other items.

Maintaining important safety and health considerations will be a critical component when reactivating our local economy,” OEV Director Cristina Paredes said. This is why the Office of Economic Vitality is communicating and working with local small businesses and non-profits to ensure both a healthy community and a healthy economy.

A complete list of organizations located in Tallahassee-Leon County that source, manufacture or distribute PPE can be found at OEVforBusiness.org/PPE. If your company is manufacturing or distributing PPE and would like to be added to the site, contact info@OEVforBusiness.org.
