Local and regional nonprofit organizations play a significant role in our economy and in strengthening quality of life for Leon County citizens. In mid-March, the White House released a “skinny budget” proposal for FY 2018, which is intended to serve as the blueprint for a full budget request expected in May. The initial budget proposal includes significant cuts for, or elimination of, several federal agencies and programs that impact nonprofit organizations. To identify the potential impacts of proposed programmatic reductions in these areas and to continue seeking ways to enhance collaboration to meet our community’s needs, Leon County will host the April 11 roundtable discussion with participation from a variety of local and regional nonprofit service providers. For more information, please contact Andrew Johnson, Assistant to the County Administrator for Legislative and Strategic Initiatives, at (850) 606-5300 / JohnsonAn@LeonCountyFL.gov or Mathieu Cavell, Leon County Community & Media Relations, at (850) 606-5300 / cmr@LeonCountyFL.gov .Please note: More than one member of the Board of County Commissioners may be in attendance at this meeting.
