Leon County Government invites the community to attend the ribbon-cutting of a new playground in Man-O'-War Park on Thursday, December 7. The event starts at 2 p.m. at 6568 Man O’ War Trail.
In 2022, Leon County attained Man-O’-War Park through an innovative public-private agreement, increasing outdoor offerings for all while aligning with the County’s goal to support strong neighborhoods, enhance mobility and create public spaces for people of all ages.
Boasting vibrant colors, slides, and climbing features, the play structure at the 4.4-acre park is designed to captivate and engage. This revitalized playground elevates the quality of life within the community by offering a safe and enjoyable play environment for children. The Man-O’-War Park swing structure, installed in August last year, now fits seamlessly alongside the new play structure.
At the event, Leon County Parks and Recreation staff will give a short presentation about the playground's special features and updates. Following the presentation, any children in attendance will be encouraged to use the new playground, and County interview opportunities will be available for media partners.
