From the Director

Dear Patrons,

Thank you for your continued support and patience as our libraries remain closed to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health of our community’s most vulnerable. What a challenging time this is.

Although our doors are closed, many services and resources are still available.

  • If you have a question about your library account, need help with our e-books or more, Library staff is just a call away. Please call (850) 606-2665 during the Main Library’s regular hours of operation.
  • If e-mail is your preference, we’re ready to respond! Send your questions to AnswerSquad@leoncountyfl.gov. And if you’d rather chat, our librarians locally as well as librarians statewide are available via Ask a Librarian.
  • Lost your card? Have a friend or family member who wants to get one? We offer online registration. Library card numbers are e-mailed to you; begin using our electronic resources right away!
  • The Library continues to add new e-books and e-audio titles for both youth and adults. In addition, we’ve created a new page, Always Open, which provides quick and easy access to the ever-growing resources available to you. The page includes resources for all ages, from stories for the very young to free access to Ancestry.com, hundreds of online classes and much more. Thanks to the Friends of the Library, we’ve also doubled access to films via Kanopy, from four rentals to eight rentals per library card, per month.
  • Watch for announcements of upcoming online programs, including story time and pop-up book clubs.  As always, your suggestions and comments are welcome. Please use our online forms or email me directly, searsd@leoncountyfl.gov.

Thanks again for being a valued library patron. Regardless of the delivery method – virtual or in person – our commitment to serve remains unchanged. We look forward to opening our doors and welcoming you back into our buildings soon.

Be well,

Debra Sears
