Leon County Introduces New Public Safety Mascot Teddy Bear-a-medic
Leon County Government is proud to introduce its newest team member, Teddy Bear-a-medic, a cuddly, caring mascot bear. Launched in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Leon County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Teddy’s name was selected by the community through an online voting process.
Always ready to lend a paw, this friendly “Bear-a-medic” will help promote the health and safety of residents and visitors on social media and at community trainings and events. Schools and organizations can request Teddy attend a training or event by calling 850-606-2100.
Citizens can follow the adventures of Teddy Bear-a-medic and the County’s disaster preparedness mascot, Billy the Bucket, on Instagram at @realbillyandteddy. Throughout the year, Teddy and Billy will share important health and safety tips, disaster preparedness information, and behind-the-scenes looks at life at the County.
Launched on December 31, 2003, Leon County EMS has provided clinically superior, cost-effective emergency medical services and transport to the citizens and visitors of Leon County for 20 years.
