As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread globally, Leon County Emergency Management is committed to actively monitoring the disease and coordinating preparedness and response efforts with local health officials, healthcare providers, first responders and other critical emergency response functions.
The following update provides a timely, accurate and vetted source of official County and community information.
Significant Changes Since Last Update
- NEW: Mobile COVID-19 Testing on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at Orange Avenue Apartments (270 Country Club Drive, Tallahassee, FL 32301)
- Free COVID-19 diagnostic testing available August 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- No physician referral needed.
- Walk up site only.
- Open to symptomatic and asymptomatic patients of all ages.
- Insurance is accepted.

- This site is operated by Bond Community Health Center with support by Leon County CARES and Florida Department of Health.
- Consistent with Florida State Parks, all County campgrounds reopened starting Saturday, August 15th at 8 a.m. This includes Coe Landing, Hall Landing and Williams Landing. The following COVID-19 rules will apply to campgrounds until further notice:
- Face masks required in the common facilities.
- Reservations required at least 48 hours in advance and paid for online. No walk-ins to avoid cash payments in the iron rangers.
- Restroom use limited to one person at a time.
- Picnic pavilions remain closed.
- Some individual campsites may be closed to accommodate social distancing between individual campsites.
- Group camping special events are not permitted. Family units/individuals only.
- Leon County launches an online mapping application to view COVID-19 Testing Sites. The map, available here, allows users to view details on COVID-19 testing sites in Tallahassee-Leon County and find which one is closest to their location.
- Free Antibody Testing Offered at FAMU-Bond Testing Site at FAMU Bragg Memorial Stadium (1500 Wahnish Way, Tallahassee, FL 32307).Â
- The test is performed with blood drawn from the arm (not a finger stick), and results are available within 15 minutes. Available to those ages 18 and over only. Individuals MUST schedule an appointment for the antibody test by calling Leon County Health Department at 850-404-6399. Diagnostic COVID-19 tests continue to be offered.
- Tallahassee-Leon County Office of Economic Vitality (OEV) distributes cloth face coverings to businesses. Beginning Tuesday, July 7, face coverings are available at the Tallahassee-Leon County Office of Economic Vitality. A business with one location is eligible for up to 100 face coverings. Local businesses with multiple locations are eligible for up to 200 face coverings. For FAQs regarding the distribution of masks to businesses, click here.
- Office of Economic Vitality (315 S. Calhoun Street, Suite 110, Tallahassee, FL, 32301) Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- County offering free face coverings for pickup at all Libraries. Leon County continues to make free face coverings available for pickup at all County library locations during regular hours. Through the library program and with OEV, the County has distributed nearly 300,000 masks to citizens. Five face masks per individual will be allowed to ensure adequate supply to meet demand. For locations and hours click here.Â
- It’s Not Too Much to Mask Campaign. Leon County launched the social media campaign, It’s Not Too Much to Mask to encourage the use of masks and facial coverings in public. If you’d like to participate, post a masked-up selfie and share why you wear a mask and for whom using #MaskOnLeon.
- COVID-19 by the Numbers. Global cases of COVID-19 now surpass 21 million. According to the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) there are or have been 5,443 positive cases of COVID-19 in Leon County. In Florida, there are or have been 576,094 positive cases of COVID-19, and 9,539 COVID-19-related deaths. These numbers are updated regularly by FDOH; visit the dashboard for more detailed information, here. Local testing date includes public and private tests performed in Leon County, including Antigen tests performed by Patients First.
