Leon County Government invites everyone to join the grand opening of a new playground in the Fort Braden community on Monday, May 1. The event starts at 10 a.m. at 16387 Blountstown Highway, near the Fort Braden Community Center. There will be refreshments, playtime for local students, and an informative talk from Leon County Parks and Recreation.
The playground is close to the Fort Braden Community Center, the Jane G. Sauls Fort Braden Branch Library, the Fort Braden community garden, and the Fort Braden History Walk. The County is committed to improving the community's quality of life, and the playground has ADA accessible features like a ramp into the play area. The playground also has colorful musical instruments, several slides, and a soft synthetic surface, making it a safe and fun place for kids to play.
At the event, Leon County Parks and Recreation staff will give a short presentation about the playground's special features and other new additions coming to the area. This gathering will let the community come together and enjoy all that Fort Braden has to offer.
