County Wins Three Awards for Exceptional Public Relations
Leon County Government recently received three Image Awards from the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) Capital Chapter for outstanding public relations efforts. The FPRA's annual Image Awards recognize the top communication teams in the region and celebrate public relations excellence in Florida. The County's award-winning projects will advance to the state-level competition later this year.

"Leon County's dedication to providing relevant and engaging communication to our citizens is evident in this year's award-winning projects," said Leon County Commission Chairman Nick Maddox. "Our County consistently goes above and beyond to connect with residents in innovative ways."

Leon County stood out among numerous entries from public relations teams across the region, winning awards in the categories of brochures and institutional videos. The following County projects were recognized:
The Annual Report video showcases Leon County's ongoing progress and commitment to serving its residents, while aiming to set the standard for local government performance, fiscal responsibility, and best practices.
This brochure highlights the County's efforts to address poverty and inequities through various programs and services, aiming to enhance economic prosperity and quality of life for the most vulnerable populations and neighborhoods.

"Effective communication between the County and our residents is crucial to our community," said Leon County Administrator Vincent S. Long. "Our Community and Media Relations team employs a collaborative approach to deliver exceptional service, while prioritizing feedback, transparency, and connecting citizens to vital services."
The Community and Media Relations (CMR) department manages the distribution of Leon County news and information via news releases, notices, publications, news conferences, and events. Adapting to the evolving needs of the community, CMR proactively communicates across multiple platforms, such as mass communications, graphic design, special events, social media, and more.

The Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) is a statewide organization of over 1,000 public relations professionals devoted to advancing the profession and enhancing members' professional development. The Capital Chapter comprises 90+ members from diverse industries, including government, associations, nonprofits, education, healthcare, legal, corporate, retail, agencies, and small businesses. FPRA is dedicated to improving the public relations profession and the communities it serves.
