County To Offer Interviews Before Annual Created Equal Addressing Experience of Black Women in America

 
WHAT:  Leon County Government and The Village Square

Media availability in advance of upcoming program,
“Created Equal: Black Women and the Fight for Equality”

WHEN:  Monday, March 20 at 1 p.m.
WHERE:  The Moon, 1105 E. Lafayette Street
   
 
Leon County Government and The Village Square will offer media interviews and a behind-the-scenes look at the eighth annual Created Equal program on Monday, March 20, starting at 1 p.m. at The Moon. The program titled, “Created Equal: Black Women and the Fight for Equality will examine the histories and current realities of Black women in America and the struggles they continue to face in the areas of health, economy, community, and education.
 
On Monday, March 20, The Village Square Executive Director Vanessa Rowse, The Village Square Director of Operations Leon Kung, and Leon County Public Information and Communications Manager Kianna Gilley will be available for interviews regarding the event.
 
Nicole Everett, the program moderator, and Christic Henry, one of the program’s featured panelists, will also be available for interviews regarding the event. Everett is the host of Conversations with Nicole, a weekly television show that seeks to connect the Tallahassee community through meaningful conversations. Henry is a neighborhood advocate and the president and managing broker of Kingdom First Realty.
 
By connecting academic experts, community members, and advocates, this year’s Created Equal will build on the success of previous programs and continue to encourage frank conversations on race and racial inequity. Citizens are encouraged to register for the program taking place on Thursday, March 23 at The Moon, 1105 E. Lafayette St., at 5:30 p.m. at LeonCountyFL.gov/CreatedEqual.
