County to Host Annual Strategic Planning Retreat

County to Update Strategic Plan and Discuss Impact of Leon CARES

WHO:             Leon County

WHAT:           Annual Retreat

WHEN:          Monday, January 25, from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

WHERE:        Florida State University’s Dodd Hall, 641 University Way

At this year's annual retreat, the Board of County Commissioners will receive an update on Leon County's progress towards reaching the organization’s bold goals and five-year targets in the areas of Economy, Environment, Quality of Life and Governance. Following the update, the Board will review and update the Leon County FY2017-2021 Strategic Plan, which provides a road map to guide the County's progress in setting the standard in public service and providing citizens and visitors alike unparalleled opportunities and experiences.

The current strategic plan can be found at www.LeonCountyFL.gov/StrategicPlan.

Also as part of the day, the Board will receive an impact report on the Leon CARES program as well as a presentation and discussion of the Board's meeting procedures. To date, Leon CARES is the largest aid program in our County's history with over $60 million in federal funds to individuals and small businesses most impacted by the virus. The Report provides a detailed overview of all the Leon CARES partnerships and direct assistance programs established since July to provide critical public health services, support services and financial assistance to those impacted most by the COVID-19 virus. The overview will also highlight the community-wide impacts of the Leon CARES expenditure plan in addressing the needs of thousands of individuals, businesses and nonprofits throughout Leon County.

The FY2020/2021 Strategic Planning Retreat materials can be found here .
