Join Leon County Government and the City of Tallahassee as elected officials, program experts, youth and parents announce the launch of the 2023 Tallahassee-Leon County Summer Youth Expo.
The first-of-its-kind expo will connect families of all income levels with summer activity providers. This press event will include remarks from Leon County Commissioner Bill Proctor, Mayor Pro-Tem Dianne Williams-Cox, community leaders, and families.
All too often, lower-income families do not have access to high-quality, engaging summer programming. As a result, youth may not have a safe place to go or thrive while their parents are at work and may also experience “summer slide” which is the tendency for students to lose some of the achievement gains they made during the school year. The 2023 Tallahassee-Leon County Summer Youth Expo will highlight programming available to southside Leon County residents, specifically those with low-to-moderate income such as ALICE households.
