CANCELED: 2020 Hurricane Season Kickoff Press Conference

As peaceful demonstrations continue, Leon County is canceling the previously scheduled 2020 hurricane season kick off press conference on Monday, June 1 at 10 a.m. In lieu of a media event, County and City officials will issue a news release with further information on how the community can be prepared for the upcoming hurricane season, including more details on the Leon County Disaster Survival Guide, the upcoming virtual Build Your Bucket event, and more.

During Pandemic Response, Community Partners Remind Residents to Prepare for the 2020 Hurricane Season

 

WHO:             City and County Leaders, Emergency Management Officials

WHAT:           2020 Hurricane Season Kickoff

WHEN:          Monday, June 1, at 10 a.m.

WHERE:        Outside the Public Safety Complex, 911 Easterwood Drive

 

Local leaders will host a press conference on Monday, June 1, to discuss the upcoming hurricane season and reinforce the importance of disaster preparedness during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The physically distanced event will be held at 10 a.m. at the Public Safety Complex, 911 Easterwood Drive, with representatives from Leon County Government, City of Tallahassee, Leon County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Health-Leon County and the National Weather Service. Experts will discuss additional measures the community should consider when preparing their family plans in advance of a storm and considering the public health threat of the coronavirus.
