County’s Leon Works Expo to Connect 1,000+ Students with In-Demand Career Opportunities

Leon County Government and the Tallahassee-Leon County Office of Economic Vitality invite members of the media to attend the 10th Annual Leon Works Expo on Friday, April 25. This engaging career readiness event will bring together more than 1,000 high school students from the Big Bend region, including Leon, Wakulla, Gadsden, Jefferson, Calhoun, Madison, and Taylor counties. The Expo will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude after a brief closing ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Media partners are encouraged to attend at 11 a.m.Â

Students will connect with professionals, explore hands-on demonstrations, and learn about skilled career opportunities available in our growing local job market. More than 75 public and private sector employers will share positive experiences about their fields and provide students hands-on, interactive learning opportunities.

Exhibitors at the Leon Works Expo include:
- Organizations like Rapid Press, Inc., Childers Construction, and General Dynamics Land Systems.
- Academic institutions such as Tallahassee State College, Lively Technical College, Keiser University, and Gadsden Technical College.
- Government agencies including Leon County Government, City of Tallahassee, and Florida Department of Corrections.
 Visuals for the 2025 Leon Works Expo include:
- High school students interacting with exhibitors.
- Students participating in breakout sessions hosted by CareerSource Capital Region.
- Vehicle displays, including a helicopter, ambulance, fire truck, bucket truck, EV and search-and-rescue vehicles, and patrol cars.
- An operational jet engine, an interactive masonry and materials demonstration, wildlife specimens, and welding and pipefitting trailers
- Elected officials and local business leaders speaking to students at the Leon Works Expo closing program.

Since 2015, Leon County’s Leon Works Expo has connected more than 7,000 high school students to more than 500 academic institutions, private businesses, non-profit agencies, and public sector partners.
