Lake Henrietta, Exotic/Invasive Plant Management

Who: Leon County Public Works – Engineering Services
What: Exotic/Invasive Plant Management
When: October 3 – December 16, 2016
Where:  Lake Henrietta Park
Why: Ecosystem restoration in floodplain

Over 100 acres of natural and managed land area at Lake Henrietta Park, owned and managed by Leon County, will be treated to remove exotic and invasive plants from the floodplain and nearby upland areas. Removing the exotic plants restores the native vegetation and supports the natural ecosystem throughout the floodplain. Using approved herbicides, 100% of target vegetation will be treated using a combination of truck and UTV mounted sprayers along road and trail edges and everything else using backpack sprayers or other hand held equipment.

If you have any questions feel free to contact Leon County at (850) 606-1500 or Richardsonjo@leoncountyfl.gov.
