The Friends of the Library presented a $100,000 donation at the Leon County Board of County Commissioners meeting.

The Friends make donation for audiovisual equipment at the Northeast Branch.

The Friends of the Library and the Bruce J. Host Library Center Fund donated $7,644 to be used for equipment and installation costs for an up-to-date audiovisual system for the program room at the Northeast Branch Library. The donation was presented at the Leon County Board of County Commissioners meeting.

Friends donate $100,000.

The Friends purchase book mobile and book hauler.

With funding from The Friends of the Library and Leon County, the library purchased a new bookmobile and a book hauler for outreach services to seniors.

The Forming of the Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Library was formed by the American Association of University Women to generate public support for a library. Tallahassee was the only state capital in the United States not offering free public library service.
