Rick Minor is a native Floridian with a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. He served as a business and information technology consultant, the chief of staff to the Tallahassee Mayor’s Office, and as chief executive officer of Second Harvest of the Big Bend.
He was elected to the Leon County Board of County Commissioners to represent the citizens of District 3 in 2018. While in office, Minor has focused on reducing crime, growing the economy by helping businesses bring quality jobs to District 3 and the County, protecting the environment, addressing homelessness, and government ethics. Minor advocated for the creation of the Citizens’ North Monroe Street Task Force, which was tasked with identifying opportunities to reduce crime and improve conditions along the North Monroe Corridor between Fred George Road and Tharpe Street. He served as Chairman of the Board from 2020-2021.
Minor is actively involved in the community and has served on several local boards, including Feeding Florida, Tallahassee-Leon County Shelter, and Tallahassee Citizens’ Police Academy Alumni Association.
