John Arthur Scruggs

John Arthur Scruggs was born on December 18, 1876, in Lowndes County, Georgia. Scruggs was a farmer by trade but served the public in various roles including as Leon County District 1 Commissioner from 1913-1914, a member of the State House of Representatives, and chairman of the county party committee. He died in Tallahassee on October 14, 1972, and is buried in Oakland Cemetery.
