Edward Choice Smith

Edward Choice Smith was born on October 20, 1842. He worked as a farmer and judge, and he fought for the Confederacy in the American Civil War. He later served as a Justice of the Peace from 1883 until his resignation in 1900 to serve on the County Commission. He was elected to the Leon County Board of County Commissioners in 1900 and served until 1908. He was selected as Chairman of the Board for his last two years of office. He died on June 8, 1909, and is buried at Miccosukee Methodist Cemetery.
