County Commissioner

Years of Service: 1986-1992

Donald Corbett “Don” Price was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on August 4, 1926. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps. He moved to Tallahassee in the mid-1950s and was active in the community. He was a charter member of Springtime Tallahassee in 1968 and a businessman, working in commercial real estate brokerage and as director of Tallahassee State Bank. He held several public service positions and spent two years on the Tallahassee City Commission and four years in the state Legislature. He was elected to represent the citizens of District 4 on the Leon County Commission in 1986. During his two terms, he wanted to build a closer relationship between City and County governments, work to solve drainage and transportation concerns, and maintain a tight budget. He was selected as Board Chairman from 1990-1991. Price died on February 6, 2017, and is buried at Culley’s MeadowWood Memorial Park in Tallahassee.
