The County Administrator is appointed by, and serves at the pleasure of, the Leon County Board of County Commissioners. The County Administrator is the chief executive officer of the County, and all executive responsibilities and powers are assigned to and vested in him. The County Administrator shall exercise all executive authority provided by the Home Rule Charter and all other powers and duties authorized by general or special law.

It is the responsibility of the County Administrator to implement all decisions, policies, programs, and directives of the Board. The County Administrator provides leadership, management, and direction to the almost 800 employees of Leon County entrusted to carry out the County's responsibilities and obligations to the community.

The County Administrator provides fiscal and policy recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners, including a proposed annual county operating and capital improvement budget, as well as ongoing analysis and recommendations on all matters of public policy before the Board.
