Plan and Prepare for Disasters with Leon County’s Citizen Engagement Series

County Puts Disaster Preparedness and Resilience Front and Center

As part of its ongoing commitment to building a #HurricaneStrong community, Leon County will host its next Citizen Engagement Series session on Thursday, June 22, at 6 p.m. at the Public Safety Complex, 911 Easterwood Drive. At the event, citizens can engage with and learn from public safety experts and leaders in emergency management from from across the county.
The upcoming session, “Citizen Engagement Series: Disaster Resilience Edition,” will focus on building community preparedness and resilience in response to both man-made and natural disasters. Leon County will convene preparedness experts, public safety officials, nonprofit partners, and other community members to discuss various topics such as disaster preparedness, who to call in an emergency, and the importance of having a plan for your home.
This interactive, hands-on event puts disaster preparedness front and center as the 2023 hurricane season is officially underway. Citizens who attend the event will have a chance to win critical disaster preparedness supplies, such as a weather radio and other essential items.
Open to all Leon County residents, those interested in the session can register at Registration closes Thursday, June 22, at noon. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
