	Fitch Rating Agency Office of Management & Budget Leon County demonstrated fiscal responsibility, with the Fitch Rating Agency - an international firm considered one of the top three rating firms in the world - affirming the County’s financial rating to AA with a stable outlook. 	Gold Well Workplace Award Human Resources The Leon County Wellness Team was national recognized this year as recipients of the Gold Well Workplace Award from the Wellness Council of America. The Gold Well Workplaces Award is given to organizations that successfully build comprehensive worksite wellness initiatives, as well as demonstrate and document concrete outcomes.
	Shooting Star Award Human Resources The Wellness Team also received the Shooting Star Award for the second year in a row from Working Well. 	FACC Recognition Probation, Supervised Pretrial Release & Drug/Alcohol Testing Recognized by the Florida Association of Community Corrections (FACC) for assisting with the development of the Risk Assessment Tool Training for corrections officials in the Big Bend region.
	2011 Sustainable Florida Sustainability Leon County was runner up for the 2011 Sustainable Florida leadership award in part for its water conservation efforts, as demonstrated through installation of a 40,000 rainwater cistern for the Extension Facility. This system is projected to reduce the demand for potable water at the facility by 80%.
	Picric Acid Solid Waste Management Solid Waste was recognized at the North American Hazardous Materials Management Association Florida-Caribbean Chapter Annual Workshop with the “Picric Acid” award for successfully and safely handling two WWII-era DDT aerosol canisters and the “Pickled Skunk Brains” award for the most unusual material handled by a Florida HHW during the year.
	Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award Office of Management & Budget OMB received the Government Finance Officers Association Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the 21st year in a row. To ensure that this prestigious award is received annually, OMB continuously reviews and streamlines the budget process to maximize improvements.
	The Henry Tourism Development Recipient of the Flagler Award, also known as “The Henry” among tourism professionals, for media campaign started in 2010 to educate area residents on the importance of tourism to the area’s economy.
	BEST Neighborhoods Grant Volunteer Services Volunteer Generation Fund awarded Leon County a $25,000 Neighboring Grant - BEST (Build Engage Sustain Transform) Neighborhoods Grant in Florida. The BEST Neighborhoods Grant is based on neighboring, a model concept of community engagement that uses volunteering as a tool to empower, mobilize and facilitate positive changes within communities.
	National EMS Executive of the Year in 2011 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Chief Quillin was named the National EMS Executive of the Year in 2011 by the National EMS Management Association.
	Larry S. Jordan EMS Lifetime Achievement Award Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Deputy Chief Malcolm “Mac” Kemp was recognized by the Florida Department of Health (FDOH) with the Larry S. Jordan EMS Lifetime Achievement Award.
	2011 Raymond H. Alexander Medical Director of the Year Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Dr. Kim Landry, EMS Medical Director for Leon County, was awarded the 2011 Raymond H. Alexander Medical Director of the Year award by FDOH recognizing his leadership in clinical excellence.
	The Big Read LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library System The Library received a $12,500 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts Big Read Program.
