Find A Volunteer Opportunity

Volunteer Services connects citizens with opportunities to serve both with Leon County Government and with more than 300 other public and private nonprofits.

You can volunteer in public service opportunities throughout Leon County Government. Leon County offers  volunteer opportunities in our Library, Parks and Recreation Program, Emergency Management Office, or you can serve on a Board appointed committee. Volunteers can help out through our many County Special Events such as our Annual Veteran’s Day Operation Thank You Breakfast, September 11 th Day of Service, Volunteer Firefighter Fire Truck Round Up, The Longest Table, Neighborhood of the Year, Press Your Chest, Honor Flight and many more.

Leon County also offers  hands on resume- building internship opportunities throughout County Government.  Departments offer internships in finance, graphic design, human resources, management information systems, public administration, social service, and many more!

We have taken the guess work out of how to find a volunteer opportunity that matches your interests and skills.  You can browse through opportunities by visiting our volunteer matching system portal “Get Connected”  and  also create your own account and then edit your profile for ultimate engagement.

Once you have found an opportunity that looks like something you would love to do, you simply connect with the organization to get started.
