Thomas H. Lewis Thomas H. Lewis retired in 2012 as the Director of the Department of Economic and Community Development for the City of Tallahassee.
He is a 1966 graduate of Kentucky State University with a BS Degree in Accounting and Economics.
He has a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Pittsburgh.
In his over 43 year career in community development, urban revitalization and education he has served as the Chief of the Bureau of Housing for the State of Florida’s Department of Community Affairs, the Assistant Dean of the School of Business and Industry at Florida A&M University, the Regional Representative for the Secretary of the Department of Transportation for the eight state Southeast region of the United States, the Deputy Director of Economic Development for the City of Detroit, the Director of Housing for the City of Detroit and the Director of the City of Tallahassee’s Department of Neighborhood and Community Services.
