Leon County Commissioner John Dailey Completes Advanced County Commissioner Certification Program

Leon County Commissioner John Dailey graduated Wednesday from a County Commissioner training program at the Florida Association of Counties’ (FAC) 2015 Annual Conference and Educational Exposition in St. Johns County.

Commissioner Dailey completed the Advanced County Commissioner (ACC) certification program, which is offered by FAC and gives county commissioners the opportunity to complete a program of study designed to provide information and enhance skills relevant to commissioner duties and responsibilities. The ACC program is organized as a series of three educational seminars with 27 hours of course work.

“Through the excellent education program provided by the Florida Association of Counties staff, I have gained greater insight into the many complex issues counties around the state face,” said Commissioner Dailey. “The skills I have learned through this process will allow me to continue to better serve Leon County residents.”

Commissioner Dailey was one of 26 to graduate recently with a total of 171 graduating since the inception of the program in 2006. FAC is one of the few associations representing Florida’s counties with the involvement of more than 300 county commissioners. Dailey follows in the footsteps of Commissioner Jane G. Sauls and Commissioner Bryan Desloge who also graduated from the Advanced County Commissioner program.

“This certification allows our citizen electorate to become experts in county government improving their communities,” said FAC Executive Director Chris Holley. “We are proud to have Commissioner Dailey as one of our most recent graduates from this program and fortunate to have his great insight and engagement during the certification process.”

Commissioner Dailey has served on the Leon County Commission since 2006 representing the citizens of District 3. During his time in office, the Commissioner has constantly worked to balance the needs of growth within the community with the careful stewardship of the natural resources that make Leon County such a wonderful place to live and work.
