Adopt-A-Tree Program

The Leon County Department of Public Works Adopt-A-Tree program is an annual tree planting program.  The last day to request a tree for the 2013 program was on January 31, 2013.

The Adopt-A-Tree program is for citizens that live inside Leon County, but outside of Tallahassee city limits.  The 2013 tree was the Southern Magnolia "Little Gem".  The Southern Magnolia "Little Gem" is variety that is know for small stature and early blooming.

Participating citizens agree to water the tree three times a week for one year. Public Works plants the tree in the front of any home located along any publicly-maintained road or any privately-maintained road with public access.  The trees are planted in February of each year.
