Transportation Infrastructure

Providing for the safety, comfort and convenience of the public by creating, maintaining and managing infrastructure and programs supporting transportation, roadside beautification and stormwater maintenance.

MISSION:

This is accomplished through cost effective, environmentally sensitive and aesthetically pleasing products and services.

Services we provide to you, the citizens of Leon County:

RIGHT OF WAY

• Canopy Roads Management
• Reviewing tree removal requests
• Pruning and removal of high risk trees and invasive exotic plants
• Roadside Beautification Program including the planting of trees, shrubs, and flowers
• Litter control and roadside mowing
• Responding to public concerns and requests by investigating complaints, and  accomplishing needed improvements

TRANSPORTATION

• Asphalt repairs
• Private Dirt Road Repair Program  Please Note Price Change 11/01/09
• Maintenance of County maintained dirt roads
• Street sign fabrication, installation, and maintenance of pavement markings
• Data collection for traffic studies
• Responding to public concerns and requests by investigating complaints, and accomplishing needed improvements

STORMWATER

• Maintaining and retrofitting open and enclosed drainage systems along county rights-of-way and easements
• Providing for water quality and rate control
• Protecting against injury and loss associated with stormwater runoff
• Responding to public concerns and requests by investigating complaints, and accomplishing needed improvements
• Maintaining and repairing road shoulders
