CDBG General Infrastructure Grants Program Comments

Leon County, Florida seeks public comments for a 14-day comment period on potential projects for an application to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) for the Rebuild Florida Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) General Infrastructure Program. With a total allocation of $475,000,000, the Rebuild Florida Mitigation General Infrastructure Program will be implemented in three competitive application cycles, with $150 million in funding available in this first round. https://floridajobs.org/rebuildflorida/mitigation/general-infrastructure-program

Leon County, in partnership with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), is investing millions of dollars in septic-to-sewer conversion projects to help improve surface and ground water quality by transitioning hundreds of septic tanks to centralized sewer. In addition, projects in the Wakulla Springs Protection Zone help reduce the potential of contaminants from entering the springs. Leon County is submitting four project proposals for this first round of CDBG-MIT General Infrastructure Program funding to supplement the ongoing septic-to-sewer conversion projects. The application deadline is September 14, 2020. Comments on the projects must be made by September 9, 2020.
