"People Focussed. Performance Driven"

Construction

This program serves the County's facilities improvement needs.  Its works includes planning facility improvement options, budgeting and managing projects.  The program manages the selection and work of numerous consultants, including architects, engineers and construction managers, negotiates and manages contracts and seeks to ensure that the County is getting value for the money spent on these projects.  The program also supports maintenance by providing assistance in evaluating failures when they occur and in selecting improvement options that result in greater energy efficiency.

Leon County and the City of Tallahassee are currently undertaking the development of a new facility to collocate various emergency operation entities within the City and County.  The County/City are constructing a Public Safety Complex consisting of a joint dispatch center, emergency operations center, traffic management center, emergency medical services, and administrative space for the City of Tallahassee Fire Department contained within a single hardened facility.  Final project scope expects total project size to be in the range of 36,500 – 71,500 gross square feet with a total project budget estimated between $40 and $50 million.
