Vincent S. Long, County Administrator

Vincent S. Long

Vince Long is the County Administrator for Leon County, Florida, and he has worked for the County since 1995. As the County Administrator, he is appointed by, and serves at the pleasure of, the Leon County Board of County Commissioners.

Long has a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from the Askew School of Public Administration and Policy at Florida State University (FSU) where he has served on the adjunct faculty teaching graduate courses in local government for over a decade. He has also served for many years on the faculty of the Florida Association of Counties' County Commissioner Certification Program. Vince is also a graduate of the Harvard University, JFK School of Government Institute for Senior Executives in State and Local Government and has earned the recognition of "Credentialed Manager" by the International City/County Managers Association (ICCMA).

Long has served on the Board of Directors for the Florida City/County Managers Association (FCCMA) and the North Florida Chapter of the American Society of Public Administration (ASPA). He has served on numerous special committees to the State Legislature advising on local government and public policy issues affecting the state. Long currently serves as the appointment of Chief Financial Officer on the Florida Workers Compensation Insurance Guaranty Association Board of Directors. He is also on the Council of Advisors for Leadership Florida.

Long is a graduate of Leadership Tallahassee and Leadership Florida. He is a member of many community organizations, including currently serving on the Board of Directors of the United Way of the Big Bend. Vince and his wife, Julann, have three children, Kellen, Jack and Riley.
