Commissioner John Dailey has had public service in his sights his entire life. John began his professional career at the Florida League of Cities where he worked on legislative and regulatory issues involving local governance. In 2001, he went to work for the National League of Cities in Washington, DC, where he gained a comprehensive understanding of the issues facing local governments; issues as diverse as economic development and community redevelopment to criminal justice and public safety.

John focused his academic studies primarily on government as well. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Florida State University, and gained valuable experience serving as the President of the Student Government Association and working at the Leon County Office of Management and Budget. John also earned a Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from The London School of Economics, while simultaneously working as a legislative aide to a Member of Parliament.

Currently, John is President of JDA Strategies, LLC a public policy research and development consulting firm, and a licensed Realtor with the Ketcham Realty Group.

Commissioner Dailey was elected to the Board in November 2006. His priorities are sustainable growth, environmental protection, and economic development.

John and his wife, Ginny, will celebrate their 17th wedding anniversary in December. They are the proud parents of two sons, Tommy and Henry.
