Public Service/Library/Extension Service-Eastside
Salary Range: $14.40-$28.48 Hourly*
The purpose of this position is to provide reference services to customers at
the Eastside Branch Library. At Leon County, we strive to do more, and to do

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Plans and schedules hour-long topical
programs promoting reading for children and their families; prepares and have
ready materials for book discussion including discussion questions and other
book-related reading activities and program-related materials for check-out;
offers professional expertise to library users; uses research techniques to
answer questions received in person, by telephone and online; resolves any
patron complaints to ensure excellent public service and promote positive public
relations while serving a diverse population; provides instructions to users in
the use of electronics, SIRSI online library catalog, online databases and the
internet; charges and discharges library materials accurately; performs other
circulation functions accurately.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Master's degree in Library Science from an ALA
accredited college or university. Experience working with children,
particularly delivering children services preferred. Employee must be able
to work a flexible schedule with some days, evenings, and Saturdays.
