Marketing Communications Manager
Tourism Development
Salary Range: $39,347.00-$79,686.00 Annually*

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Oversees the work of the Visitor Services Department; assists in developing and approving annual sales plan; manages marketing communications functions; researches, writes and edits data needed for all communications and publications; manages website events functions with industry and the advertising agency; manages and oversees all communications and publications; develops and manages local communications committee; generates positive editorial for the destination in print, electronic and online media; provides material to media as necessary; develops and manages industry stakeholder, resident and consumer communications programs; develops and manages programs including Tour Guide and national Tourism Week to educate local residents on the value of tourism; develops statewide, regional and national promotions; contacts and solicit hotels, attractions, retail establishments, restaurants, airline and ground transportation companies to develop promotions; develops and manages social marketing programs; oversees and manages blog site and Visit Tallahassee bloggers; works to establish perception and awareness of Tallahassee/Leon County primarily as a television production and independent film location within local and global markets;

REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelorís degree in Public Relations/Communications, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field and three years of experience in tourism; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.  Prior CVB experience is preferred.  A two-year degree plus prior work experience in tourism specific areas may substitute.  Computer knowledge and skills are required.  Must possess a valid Driverís License and a favorable driving record at time of hire. 

*Initial placement may be negotiated above the minimum salary based on verified related education, experience, and training above the minimum requirements.
